✅ Indicator Design

The LCS40 is a 1.7 cm wide by 20 cm long paper strip,printed with chemical indicator ink that 

changes colorfrom yellow to black when exposed to the steam sterilization process.

✅ Sterilization Monitoring

This Type 4 chemical indicator is specifically designed to monitor 121-134°C gravity and vacuum-assisted 

steam sterilization cycles. It ensures that steam has penetrated to the placement point, typically the center 

of a sterilization pack.

     Position the indicator within the sterilization load toaccurately monitor the process

✅ Exposure

     The indicator is exposed to essential sterilization variableslike temperature, time, 

     and saturated steam.

✅ Reaction

     The chemical components in the indicator react to theseparameters, resulting in a visible 

     color change.

     After sterilization, evaluate the color change to confirmthe sterilization cycle's effectiveness.

✅ Compliance

      Meets the ISO 11140-1:2014 standard, ensuring thatthe sterilization process is valid.

If any of the critical sterilization parameters (temperature, time, and saturated steam) fall outside 

the required standards, the indicator will not pass. This indicates the sterilization cycle may have 

failed, and the material cannot be considered sterile. The cycle may need to be repeated.
